There's nothing wrong with that that's cool nice jar should clean up real nice on the very top of the lip if it's real rough look like it been grinded on That's the older jar I bet it's got a rough lip

I figured it did it look like it it would have one nice find keep your eyes peeled probably more of them never know you might find one full of coins hoorah

Thats cool! This jar type was patented in It's got the improved design top which was used mainly from 1870s-1890s but most common in the 1880s and early 1890s. Not one we come across too often, but not rare either. I've seen them before plenty of times. Still a great find! I've always found it cool to see people finding bottles in old walls of old homes.

Neat jar! A house near where I grew up was undergoing some renovations in the 1980's and they found 100's of labeled medicine bottles behind the walls of the house...many of them pontiled. I still have a newspaper clipping from that find.
