I wanna be able to clean my bottles to be almost pristine without using muriatic acid or a tumbler, and I also wonder if lemon juice does anything or does it harm the bottle? Thanks!

Nope. Muriatic acid does not etch glass, Citrus acid is almost too weak to help anything, and Carbolic acid will melt glass. Carbolic acid forms when vegetation decays in in the ground. When that comes in contact with glass it will etch the glass. Only tumbling will remove that kind of etching. You can hide it a bit with oils or acrylic floor wax, but it will still be hazy.

Muriatic acid is your friend; dilute if you want, be safe and don't drink it.
