Black Glass bottle with blue rings on base?

Hi everyone.

I recently bought a very beat up but very cool black glass, 3 piece ale bottle.

but here's where it gets interesting and why I bought the bottle, really. It has these odd, yet very pretty rings on the bottom...

Never seen this in black glass before. Anyone know what the rings are?

Never seen this in black glass before. Anyone know what the rings are?

Someone told me many years ago that that was a refired pontil mark.
I have no idea if that is correct or not but someone on here will know. Roy

Alright, I have a similar question and since it's so similar I'm going to post it here. This bottle was one of a handful I bought from a single source. They're all roughly the same age from what I can tell, but how old are these exactly?
I realize this type of English Ale Dark Glass bottle was made like this for a long time. I'm still curious on other opinions though.

Don't know what to make of the bottom...

Apparently it's called "Glass Gall." This is glass that collected in the bottom of the furnace, rife with impurities, and occasionally got scooped up & used on the end of the pontil rod. I've heard that in rare instances, entire bottles were made with glass gall; they're quite rare, thus valuable in their own right.
