Quite a big question, but where in the U.S is the best place to find blavk glass?

From the Mississippi up through the Ohio River valley eastward to the Atlantic. I know, that was a big answer, too.

I have found the top and shards but never a whole one. Would love black glass. I have some so dark green it looks black. That doesn't count as true black glass right?

To dig or to buy? It's everywhere in the U.S. that dates before the 1910s. I've found it in 1920s dumps even. Best on the East coast as they received the most English imports. To buy, ebay, bottle shows, antique stores.
