Did some mudding today.

This blob top bottle says "Trade Mark Schlitz Registered P. M. Ohmeis & Co. Sole Agents New York".

I removed the lens from the ground and it crumbled to pieces. Still have all the pieces but it's not pretty.

I love that globe embossing! The Valligny bottle is interesting too, I was initially wondering if it was a medicine aimed at the Franco-American market but looks like it was actually a hair product pretending to be imported from France, and therefore fancy: https://books.google.ca/books?id=SG...q="Pierre valligny" "goutte-a-goutte"&f=false I wonder if Pierre Valligny was a real person, and if so whether he was actually named Pierre Valligny or just adopted the name for the sake of sounding French. A few decades later the company got in trouble with the FTC for pretending that their domestic products were imported, according to this earlier forum post: https://www.antique-bottles.net/threads/l-pierre-valligny.314983/

Yes! The little amber bottle is a hair dye, and according to Pierre Valligny's great grandson, Chris Vallignhy, aka AB user @cvalligny, was a French immigrant who moved to New York City in 1906 and manufactured the product here but sold it under the guise of it being imported from France, likely as a way to boost sales. So the bottle dates from 1906-1910's or so, as I'm not sure how quickly Pierre Valligny would have begun manufacturing once off the boat, though I'm sure it didn't take him too long. Very interesting!
