Hello All! I am new to this so please forgive me if this is a repeat but after an exhausting search I can not seem to find anything about this bottle/ Jar I found!! Please Help!
I will describe as best I can... The bottle/ Jar is just under seven inches high and four inches wide. It has a blue tint to the obviously old but beautiful glass. The only other marking on the Bottle is "Trademark" and a seemingly backwards 3! The other thing that made it different from a Ball Jar for instance is the funny shaped lid! (or where the lid would go) I searched all over the net and have found nothing about a Jar or bottle that is made by "Favorite" written in cursive! Is this an extremely rare piece? Or just not popular? I would find that hard to believe since it is so nice looking.. just my opinion of course. Thanks for your help!!

Your jar is listed in the Red Book as entry #985. The quart is listed at a value of $35-40. The half gallon is listed at $100-150. Those prices are for a complete jar in good condition. Value of the closure (the band and lid that is missing) is 40-50% of the total. George

George is right. The glass lid has a bulge in the center. These are nice jars for sure if they are clean and have the right closure. People tend to pay more for pints than quarts though so that is working against you.

I think when you're saying your jar has a "funny top", you are just talking about the top of the jar, right? Most jars with an "Improved" style closure (that's a glass lid and zinc band) have the top shaped like this. What the guys are talking about is the fact that this jar doesn't take an ordinary glass lid, but one that has a bulge or bubble in the center. My camera is on loan today, but I'll try to post a photo for you tomorrow. -Tammy
