It's an old beer bottle. I've always been told that the AB on the bottom stands for Anheuser-Busch.

Edit: Adolphus Busch, not Anheuser-Busch.

Definitely an Adolphus Busch logo. It's most likely a beer bottle. By the look of base, I'm getting the impression it is pre-pro between 1900 and 1905... IF it is a tooled crown top.
