Bottle ID and Info Please

Found at an estate sale and I am wondering what it contained and when was it made. The bottom shows the letter L in an oval.

Welcome to the forum! My guess would be pancake syrup or vinegar, and the 1950s (give or take a couple decades).

Thank you. I thought it looked like a syrup bottle too. I think the markings on it are very interesting. Here is another shot that might show them better.
