A very interesting bottle I picked up at an estate sale for a dime. It has a marble in the neck. What can someone tell me about this unique little treasure? Anything? It’s about 7 1/2” tall.

Thanks in advance!

British Codd soda bottle. Circa 1890-1900 I'd say.

the way the bottle worked , is the marble was the stopper and was heled up agents the rubber ring in the nick by the gas presser in the bottle .

First of, awesome buy for 10 cents! Sunrunner has it right. An interesting thing to note is, a lot of these bottles were broken by kids back then in order to get the marble.

I didn’t think I could go wrong for a dime! I can totally see kids breaking the bottle to retrieve the marble. Thanks for that tidbit!
