Broken Myer's Rock Rose on ebay

Seen this relisted a couple of times, buyer wants 1,300. Never seen one before, but I was curious, does any bottle with this degree of neck damage warrant such a high price?

This is a large antique green colored embossed bottle with an iron pontil mark at the base. Bottle dates to the 1840's-1850's probably. Bottle is square with beveled corners and advertises for “Myers Rock Rose New Haven” on the sides.

I’m pretty sure all intact it’s worth about $600 at most. I’ve seen a few more, but don’t know what they sold for

Too much money for that much damage. The sad truth is if bought cheaply enough someone will repair it, which if fine if you do that so you can have an example albeit a damaged one, in your collection. Hopefully it doesn't end up on the market as a whole bottle. that has happened a few times with better bottles and doesn't reflect well on the hobby.

Those always seem to be so plain for their age. Can't say that I've ever seen a whittled, bubbly example. They're asking about 10 times what it's worth, in my opinion.
