Hello- Being full blooded Hungarian I couldn't pass up the chance to buy on Ebay a pontiled Buchan's Hungarian Balsam the other day. I can't seem to google up any information on Buchan however. Does anyone have any info on this manufacturer or bottle? Thanks!!

Thanks Ron. Mine is 5 3/4" tall- 2 inches wide. It is embossed Buchan's Hungarian Balsam of Life London vertically down the sides of the rounded bottle. If you flip the bottle with the flared lip to your left the embossing reads horizontal to the bottle. Hard to describe - hopes that makes sense.

According to odell's pontil encyclopedia it was imported by David Bradlee in Boston. Advertised as early as 1843.
