So I recently dug up this SS coke from Burlington NC. This has got to be the most odd looking shaped SS coke. No pictures of one on the internet.
If anyone has the coke book, can you tell me if this exists in the book? Also a value for a complete one (in an honest estimate?)
I was surprised to see this come out of the ground.

I'm afraid it's not a straight-side Coke, these are called flavour bottles and were used by the local franchise for the beverages other than Coke that they bottled. They existed alongside the hobbleskirts rather than predating them, and they confuse a lot of people who haven't heard of them before. Usually they aren't too valuable, I don't know the specifics of this one but they seem to generally be worth somewhere in the $10 range. In general something which only says Coca Cola Bottling Co in block letters rather than the script logo won't have held Coca Cola (although there are a few exceptions).

I agree, CanadianBottles pretty much summed it up correctly.

I really appreciate this insight! This is good to know. I only suspected this might be because A: I’d never seen one before and B: this was found at a dump mainly comprised of 1890-1929 bottles

Curious if there would have been a paper label then, to designate these flavors?

Neat shaped bottle, I would have kept it too

I wouldn't be surprised to see a paper label on a bottle like this, looks like it was designed to be able to take one. Hard to say if they would have actually always used them though. I can't remember ever seeing a flavour bottle with a paper label, but we don't get many flavour bottles up here and you only see so many surviving paper label sodas in the first place.
