Can anybody tell me what this bottle was used for?

Bottle was found in a barn being taken down. Has small round depressions on both sides in groups of four, and a small PP marking on the bottom. Anyone know what this bottle might have originally held?

How tall is it? I'm thinking maybe a mid-century shampoo bottle if it's the right size. Amazing to think that shampoo bottles used to be glass up until the 60s or so, wouldn't want to have dropped one of those in the shower!

The bottle is 4.5 inches tall 3.5 inches wide and 2.5 inches thick. Here is as photo of the bottom.

Yeah that could be shampoo, back then they were often smaller than the ones we have now.
