Hi Friends!

I recently came across a treasure at a church sale in Guilford, Connecticut.

Does anyone have any information? Slight chip on the bottom, barely noticeable. Cork is heavy and waxy.

I am looking at finding a general age.

looks modern, perhaps decorator type. Lack of base wear, odd shape for daily use etc. but what the heck do I know!:p

It was previously suggested to be an early to mid 19th century European mucilage bottle on Facebook which was what I was thinking. Too much volume and too wide a mouth to be an ink or chemical bottle. Too old to be a rubber cement bottle. Too unusual a shape to be American, but the pontil style and lip suggest real age and not modern creation. It's just one of those things that's hard to pin down as comparatively little is known of bottles with an origin outside the U.S. and England.
Germanic or of Dutch origin, perhaps?
