Stopped at an antique store today and saw this sitting above a door ledge with wicker down to the shoulders of the flask, and some dry flowers sticking out of the top. I asked the owner to take it down, and saw that it is a beautiful citron color, more green than the picture shows. Cleaned up real nice once I took the rest of the wicker off.... I think it's worth the $5.00 I paid, even though there is a chip on the inside of the lip.

Wouldn't normally have bought this European wine, but I was curious about the wicker. The next photo will show the base, which is wooden. Is this something that is done often? Wicker doesn't look very old, so the bottle might not be either - what do you think - should I remove the wicker or leave it on?

What a color!I'd be checking back at that store.Ripping the wicker off of bottles to expose the glass is just like being a kid on Christmas morning.

Well - I already took the wicker off bottle #2 - it's pretty, but it's not old - 1 out of 2 for today isn't too bad!
