Civil War Flask

Enclosed are pictures of one of my favorite bottles. Most people who have looked at it think it was made around 1860/1880 time frame. Note the unusual short neck.

Nice flask!Here's a sold one. I wish the pictures were still up so I could see the closure. There are two lip styles alsoebay.ca but in NJGII-139 Yellow amber American eagle flask with rare original 1865 patent stopper

No idea who made it. Someone at a bottle show told me this bottle made it on the cover of a bottle collector's magazine. I sure would like to see the magazine.

this is not in the stile of most flask of that period . not a strap side and the lip is unusual. two part mold with minimal embossing it may be as old as they say but then agene.
