Your post reminded me of this little guy. I haven't dug in at least 30+ years. I dug this little guy up probably back in the late 70's in San Jose, CA. Then, and until last year it had the general shape of a toy train engine but was pretty much just a lump of rust. So I'm thinking now I have probably had this more like 40 years! I took a dental pick and wire brush and buffer etc and went to work on it. I know it's not even worth it's weight in rust but for so long it was in that cocoon and now what's left of it is freed! Measures 5" L and 1.5"H. Circa 1895.
