Dug this pot lid yesterday in Galveston, Texas in a small trash pit. Sadly no sign of the base anywhere, but was tickled pink to find this nonetheless. I've seen one of these somewhere a long time ago but it seems like it was different than this. Anyways, I was super pleased to find this and thought I would share!

Wow, that is stunning! The lid is the important part when it comes to these anyway, often the base wouldn't even be marked at all. I wish we got more pot lids over here, I've never even come across a shard of one in the wild. I don't recognize this one although I'm really only familiar with UK lids, I rarely see French ones.

The bases on these particular ones were super ornate and were marked with cows and so forth as well.

Yes, I'd collect them if I found 'em too. --All over the place in the UK!

Very nice Pot Lid Brandon and not one I have seen previously. Here is My Bears lid and pot and would assume the base to yours would have been basically the same but with a cow design.

Thanks so much for sharing that! Someday I dream of finding a bears grease lid...
