I’ve collected bottles for years just because I like the looks of certain bottles. I have no idea if anything I have has any value or not. I’ve had this bottle for over 20 years and recently pulled it out trying to find information about it. If anyone can tell me anything about it I’d appreciate it.

Not being an expert, especially on closures, I can only tell you that it is a nice, embossed antique bottle, which was blown in a mold by a person, not a machine, who then finished the lip with a lip-shaping tool after shearing the glass off the blowpipe. The closure is a type I generically call "Lightning." Being the actual cap is metal though, rather than porcelain, I am sure one of our more knowledgeable member will correct, or at least elaborate on that topic. Someone will likely have data on the brand or merchant history as well. Welcome to the site!

Here is another tidbit. Lawrence, Mass. was one of the greatest industrial centers in 19th century USA. It took off with water power fueled textile mills and boomed into just about everything. Today its a federally designated national park with ongoing preservation efforts. I believe its on a recent 25 cent piece too. Without looking anything up, I guess your bottle is from the turn of the century. Its cool! What part of GA did you find it in?

Hi GaRob!
Thanks for the original find info. (I'm sure you knew about Lawrence already having spent time in New England.) ...BTW, I spent some time in the greater Athens area a while back myself. How do you compare the two living experiences? ...Like your tractor picture. Does it still run?
Stay well. --CT Len
