bryan, i don't know just how rare they are. i want to add one to my collection so have been looking every now and then. the ones i have seen were going for around $50 - $75 range. as far as i can tell this one is no different.

This bottle was probably so high because some Houston area collectors got into a bidding war. I had that happen to me here in Georgia with a 1939 Budwine Bottle recently that was part of an 11 bottle set that went for $172. -John
