Dig of the year contest!

Am I missing something? Why doesn't this forum have a year's end dig of the year contest every year decided by voting members? Best dig of the year by active members, don't post "somebody's" digs. Active member digs only! Voters will judge how active they are when voting. Dig pics must be submitted to be voted upon by Christmas? In all fairness to year's end digs, voting could close after the first week on January? Title - digger of the year? Prize? Cyberdigger??????

not to be a hater but I think its a bad idea... its not a competition... and honestly the most prolific digs I see are not posted on here... might get more people to post digs if there is a prize though...

I guess it would be hard to do. what defines a best dig? its value, rarity, quantity, quality etc ..? Now days one is lucky to dig anything around here. Not much privy digging too. I think finding good stuff in dump digging is a lot more challenging these days.

i think the best dig is the dig which brought the most fun. ive dug many many pits this year and you guys have seen only a few. i think a contest would get more pictures on here which will be fun for sure. value, rarity, and so forth mean nothing to me so my best digs are going to be michigan bottles that are meaningless to most. personally i feel if you dig privies for monetary gain then you are doing it for the wrong reason but everyone is different, yet i think we should put some pictures up regardless if their is going to be a "prize" or not.
