You are living near the epicenter of where bottle digging and collecting hobby exploded into popularity as a result of an "urban renewal" project in 1959 that cut through an old dump in Sacramento. There are still diggers active in the general area, though numbers nothing like it would have been when antique bottle collecting was the third most popular collecting hobby in the USA.

There is a old posting titled "Any San Francisco Bay Area Bottle Diggers?" from ten years ago in the "Digging and Finding" thread that you might want to take peek at. Perhaps reactivate the thread by posting your inquiry there? You could also try starting a Conversation with members who actively posted on that thread. Of course, there are other threads on this website to check out, or post your own to "Looking for Digging Partners?" section and etc.

While I do not personally care much for the producer/narrator/host's personality and commentary, watching a few videos from "Digging the Old West With BottleNed" on YouTube should quickly convince you that antique bottle diggers still exist in your area and, some of them at least, are still successful in finding great old glass.
