Today at my local antique shop I traded some hard-to-find jar lids I had collecting on my digging trips over the summer, for this:

Idk what a sand pontil looks like exactly....
I could be completely wrong, but I believe some sand pontils are smoothed out to a certain extent.
If I am right your bottle could be a bit older.
If I am wrong, someone will let us know.
Any sand pontil experts on here ?
