Sort of a family heirloom. Was taken out of my great x3 grandparents house before demolition for a new house in 1985. Last occupant of the home was my great great uncle Victor which passed away in the 1970s. Short, stout, slicked back white haired, man that maintained cattle on his horse. His casual transportation was a horse and would ride up on it. Never married and was a humble person along with his 7 siblings. He mixed the rock candy into his tea. These sugar crystals are made out of pure sugar, and have a upmost delightful smell. I highly doubt that this jar was casually sold. This is more of a display jar that candy would be taken out and put in a bag for the customers delight. So, I don’t know how he got the whole thing ! Looks to be from the 1940s, maybe 1950s. Smooth base on jar, no modern looking marks. No particular info on this. Great piece of history.
