How do I get the stopper out of the green jar? It's stuck! Has weird crystals and liquid in it too. Pipe is nice. Red see through mouth piece and don't forget the salt shaker. [attachment=shaker.JPG] [attachment=group.JPG] [attachment=green jar.JPG]

Lots of patients. Try soaking it in water for a few days, the salts should dissolve. Just don't try to force it.

looks like your in a 1920s dump I like them for the variety of stuff you find.and you may not be able to get the stopper out of your jar.sometimes the ground glass binds on its self.

Smelling salts, not bath salts. Used to revive people who fainted - usually women, due to the use of corsets back then. And I'd like to know what the tall cobalt says as well! Looks like it could be a really good one.

I've been unsuccessful for 50 years in removing those danged ground glass stoppers so I have decided to leave them alone. Besides, the contents are part of its history, the bottle isn't worth a great deal with or without the contents and most other collectors don't give a whit either way. It's a nice bottle I would add to my collection. Jim

Big cobalt blue reads in cursive 'Elysian M'f'G.C, Chemicals & Perfumers, Detroit U.S.A The dump is 1920s down to somewhere in the 1800s. Was digging the newer section for a bit. Thanks!
