Here is an early embossed RC soda. It has a debossed RC on the shoulder and PROPERTY OF NEHI BOTTLING CO around the base. The base is embossed CONTENTS 12 FL OZ 3R*.

There are some oddities with this one. First the fact that it's embossed. All the others I've seen are acls. The 3R* indicates it was made by the Three Rivers Glass Company in Three Rivers, Texas. They are not known to have produced any acl bottles. 2nd, some of the acls I've seen also feature a debossed RC, but in a debossed triangle.

Based on my research and limited experience, I'm guessing this predates the acls and may be one of the first RC soda bottles. RC dates to the early 1930s. Are there any big RC collectors on the forum? I'd like to hear the thoughts of someone more knowledgeable.

Dug in Galveston, Texas.

It's a good thread, and so are the ones linked to it. They are road ranging and end somewhat inconclusively about the embossed bottle. I posted this bottle in one of them hoping to revive conversation and tried a new thread when it didn't work.

Mines from a different manufacturer, and has no triangle around the RC. Trying to learn more to inform whether it gets placed in the permanent collection or not.

I have never seen that one before. I am not RC Cola expert by any means but that would be a keeper for me. It is early one for sure.

I saw a few of them on Ebay. Definitely keep it for your collection. I personally don't have any R.C. bottles. I should probably get on that!
