Surface find yesterday. Rectangular pyramidal shape. Apparent mould line down the short sides, but not across the bottom or top. VERY narrow neck - about the diameter of a Q-tip. Outside of the neck does have some grooving suggesting a screw-on lid (the lip is the same width as the rest of the neck). Hard to get water in or out. Sides are uniformly ridged except a flat spot in the middle of both long sides. No logo or lettering except the numbers on the bottom. (Apologies for any incorrect terminology - I am not a "bottle guy".)
Base: 1.5" x 2.25"
Height: 4.25"
My original guess was a fancy salt/pepper shaker, but after realizing just how narrow the neck is I'm more inclined to think cologne or perfume.
Based on the location, it has some historical significance if its from the 1940s, and there's almost no chance it's older than that. However, given the condition I'm doubtful it's that old.
Any idea what it would have been used for and/or how old it is?
