I hope I am in the correct forum for this subject, I am retired and for fun and some profit, I list items on eBay for the owner of a large Antique Emporium in Henderson, NC.
We have had a vintage 1960s era 32 OZ Coca Cola bottle around the shop for ages. The bottle depicts a Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble cartoon in the space where there normally would be the words Coca Cola. on the backside the Name Nancy is written. This label is baked on just as the Coca Cola label would have been. The cartoon is drawn freehand.
The other day an older gentleman shopped in our store and spotted the bottle. He told us he had made the bottle in 1968 at the Laurens Glass Plant in Henderson when Nancy had been recognized for something he doesn't remember what. I thought this was interesting, I have seen the stretched out of shape bottles and smashed ashtray bottles glass plant workers made on the late shift but this was a first for me with the ACL. Also, I am wondering if anyone out there collects these oddities. See Images.
