Hi all,

Wife and youngster wanted t take a drive yesterday and we ended up checking out a couple antique shops while we were out. I have been on quite a dry spell, but I found a few that I picked up for the collection.

Gunther posted a list for me of milk glass med style bottles that I may want to add for a white sample, and I was fortunate enough to find a Hagan's Magnolia Balm to represent milk glass in my display case. Interestingly enough, I found a second Hagan's, this one bimal aqua and sample size. True sample bottle?

Last is a non screw top Father John's, for no other reason that that I had never seen a corker in the wild and it was cheap.

Thanks for looking,

hj

And after that flurry I still had enough left out of a twenty to cover this. It is a Pierces Memorandum Book handed out as a premium by the Geo. B.W. Brown pharmacy in Titusville, Pa. It is for the year 1891. I had always considered adding trade cards to the case, this booklet may get me working in that direction.

Hi Jamie,

Yeah, I am thinking someone was having a bad day in the neck and lip department that day. It is a nice addition to my "poor man's" medicine bottle cabinet.

My historical interests are not limited just to glass, and bottles are only a part of my overall collecting compulsion. I have seen the Kilmer's almanacs, and I agree with you that a few of them would be very nice to have. I also like the Hood's calendars. As I run out of space in my bottle cabinet, small patent med go withs and ephemera will become the norm.

Thanks for your reply,

hj
