Hi enthusiasts!

Background on this, is we recently purchased an old farm house in rural WI. It's a 1880s log home underneath all the updates. While inspecting the basement footings and headers over the windows, the contractor pulled out this find.

From what I can tell, Owens bottle company?

What is it?
What's inside?

I'm not compelled to open it, I'm superstitious!

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! No way to know for sure what it was used for without testing the contents, it's a generic utility bottle so could have been all sorts of things. Those tops were usually used for bottles with poisonous contents though, so chances are it's something you wouldn't want to drink. But probably only poisonous in the sense that most of the things you have under your kitchen sink are poisonous, not in the sense of it being something super dangerous.

Watch out, bottles are addicting. If you do start getting into it that's what you call a slick. No way to tell what it is. Welcome aboard.

GIDDY UP
Two and a half years ago I didn't have any bottles, this is just from this past summer.

I'll admit it's tantalizing! There's so much beauty in the unknown, I think that's what's got me intrigued! Thanks for the reply!
