Hey, I was out diving today looking for bottles as usual!! I found these two bottles which i am not familiar with. The first one is the usual square shaped shear top ink except for the embossings. Its embossed F.M & Co on one side and then has a picture of a dagger or something on the other side. Does anyone have any info on this ink well? The second bottle looks kinda like a miniature perrier bottle. Its in a skittle shape and dark green, with many bubbles in the glass. Any ideas on what this one was??

The FM&Co is a fairly common bottle in the United Kingdom, where it was made. I've had a number of them and sold them very quickly, so the word "common" is just a term that means one thing here and another thing in the U.K. The green bottle is a sauce bottle that also came from the U.K. Someone else can give you a possible retail value and perhaps the approximate date for them..

Are you from the U.K. or here in the United States?

Hi Beachcomber,

Both bottles you have found are from around 1900 and are relatively common and both would sell for around the $10.00 - $15 .00 in Australia. The green one I have seen labelled and was for a bath perfume similar to Eue de Cologne.

hey, Thanks for the info. I am from Bermuda, and have found these bottles here locally. We get bottles from all corners of the world here in Bermuda. I have even found some Australian and New Zealand codd bottles here in Bermuda. So is it a dagger on the little ink well? Thanks again.

Hi,

The pictorial on the ink is definitely a dagger and these are known as dagger inks

Hi, I have a small 'dagger ink' with no company name. Were they only made by F M & Co, or could this be another company instead? 7cm tall 5cm wide
