Here's the other unknown from the auction. At first glance, I thought early 1800's, but now I'm second guessing myself.Free blown, no pontil, applied band top, solid handle. Color is red-amber.

These date to the 1880's as far as I have seen. I've seen a few with labels and they are typically foreign.

Well' that handle was applied. It wouldn't be possible to make it in the mold with the finish that close in vertical proximity. Are there two seams on the finish? Are there any seam marks on the handle? The picture of the bottom - looks like it has a push up, and it had to be held some way to put the handle on the neck. We need more clearer pictures to be of much help. RED Matthews

It has a slight push up, no seams anywhere on the body or handle. I will post more pics later. I like the idea of the chestnut flask. The handle application does look like other pics of handled chestnut flasks. Brandon - do you have any pictures of the foreign flasks with labels?
