Hello
I recently found this bottle (jar?) at a Vide Grenier (French Car Boot Sale). In spite of spending many hours looking at bottle forums/pictures I haven't been able to find out anything about it. Wondered if any of you guys can help?
It's 8ins tall. Glass has a "silky" feel to it (good quality glass?). There are no seam marks. There are a few small air bubbles. No markings what-so-ever, except 1 1/2 L on the base. The lid is held closed by a single "spring" type metal band which is held in place by "cut-outs" in the sides of the bottle. I hope the picture shows what I mean.
I am assuming it is pre-1900 but not sure. Also assuming it's French, but that is only because I found it in France.
Any info regarding age - maker - etc would be most appreciated.

Thanks a lot
