I got this early iridescent Bordens Condensed Milk 1 quart bottle. What makers mark is on the bottom? Also does anyone know how early this variation is. Thanks in advance for any information you might know.

Nice bottle Robby. Also looks like HPS lighting? Lots of red spectrums there! Wish I could still drink milk. Damn old people problems

There is but I tried to block it. The iridescence is hard to photograph. Could be the crummy lighting. It is getting dark. Lactose intolerance sucks brother. I was colicky as a baby. I feel for you. I love milk.

Nice - I have a couple Bordens that are somewhat similar but heavily damaged. REgarding the mark. Is there an mTc along the heel, or a number on the heel. The B as you know is the large bottle sorting code indicating Bordens, the E inside it looks like the "E" code I have seen on many Thatcher milks I have for Elmira New York glass plant. The 12/13 code, no idea, date code maybe, or "sealed" code but thatcher didn't really have a 12 or 13 sealed code from what I read. I like the embossing, is that an eagle??

There is no number or letters embossed anywhere on the heel. Yes that is an eagle (eagle brand). He looks like he has a wreath around its neck. Is that an olive branch I see by his talons? Not really holding it. Thanks for the reply. One more thing, any idea the age?

I checked the two Borden’s I have. A quart and a squat condensed milk pint. Same ribbed design as yours, same large B on bottom. Both have no date but an L52 heel mark for Lamb glass. But no eagle, only block letter embossing.

Looking online the eagle designs like yours all seem to be from the 20’s or earlier and seem to be worth a decent buck.
Mine are from the 30’s or 40’s it seems, but as I said both damaged.
Good find RB.

That's great to know. 1920ish. I have found others but not with the eagle. Thanks for the reply.
