Went out again last Sunday to finish out the other half of the privy. Had all 3 kids with me as well. We dug 4 holes and pulled a heap of bottles out, including a few pharmacy bottles, 12 hutch sodas (mostly pretty common ones and mostly with some damage) and a bunch of other odds and ends. One of my favorite items was this CD 149 insulator that was in the privy...I've actually never handled one of these in the past but its really a beauty. Haven't washed everything yet-there was a Hostetter's, a few Duffy's, and a bunch of strange little 6 ounce English blackglass bottles as well. A very fun dig and added a few things to my collection!

Last trip out I probed out what turned out to be a 3.5'x3.5' trash pit. Found a common Galveston Brewing in the top fill. That was followed by about 5' of oysters, which means difficult and sloppy digging. There were some gems in there including two WOG hutches and a shaker digestive cordial. Find of the day was a DR. STIEBELS STOMACH BITTERS.

A little behind in posting, but continuing to dig trash pits on the same lot the big privy was on. Dug several fairly common hutch sodas, a few crown tops, a super rare early machine-made Lone Star Bottling crown, and the prize of the day, a Galveston mustard jar that I didn't even know existed. Over the moon. The kids actually dug most of the good stuff while I worked to keep their holes open haha.

The next dig was more of the same...digging trash pits and spending a lot of time keeping holes open for the kids. Dug a very cool Marine Hospital Service bottle, a rare Dr. McGork's drug store bottle, and an extremely rare Galveston whiskey flask. Not as much volume of bottles this time, but definitely still some significant quality coming out.

Continued to dig on the same lot...at this point really just digging a grid. The boys are having a blast digging holes as well...fairly easy digging due to the sand. Found a Drake's Plantation Bitters (my first ever!), a beautiful French pot lid, and a bunch of other great bottles.

Looks like I fell a bit behind in posting, but the last dig of March was a pretty good one. Continuing to just dig a grid and came up with an etched shot glass (a first for me!) from St. Louis, a ton of Florida Water bottles, a pair of hutch sodas (one from Brownwood and one from Galveston), a few beers, a cast iron topper for a cash register, a local pharmacy bottle, and my favorite item-a nameplate from a local woman who appears to have owned or ran a brothel. Really enjoying digging up such variety! The seltzer was from a local short-lived partnership and was unknown until this (albeit damaged) example.
