I agree, provide some and maybe I can help. I have no idea what's on the back but the condition is less than spectacular. Yes, it is a pontil.

I think it's 20th century repro from the look of the base, and considering the neck. Looks neat!

Strange looking pontil , doesn't look old to me .

The back is blank. It just has a raised oval. I bought it out of a plantation estate in eastern NC so I didn't think it would be a repo but I could be wrong. The bottom is pontil.
