Recently added this bottle to my collection. I enjoy researching and trying to find information about my local companies that produced beverages, and I will be going to my local historical society to find more information on J. V. Godman and the ice cream factory and his work as civil engineer and will post any other information I can find here.

James V. Godman opened the first ice cream factory on the banks of Center Lake in Warsaw. Still looking for when and where exactly it was located and when it closed, but looking at Warsaw Daily Times February 11, 1932 Our Town and Others "Way Back When" states that it was on the banks of Center Lake.

James V. Godman, 30, civil engineer, died attempting to save William H. Funk, 36, from suffocation, Warsaw, Indiana, July 25, 1904. Godman entered a lift-well of the city sewer system and was overcome by gas while endeavoring to remove Funk, who was already unconscious. James V. Godman passed away due to suffacation.

As for the contents of the bottle, I believe it could be an ice cream soda? The Bottle is a tooled lip crown top. After looking through business directories I found more information about this company.
The Business director for Warsaw In 1898 had no mention of Godman Ice Cream factory so it was opened sometime between 1899 to 1903
This is a 1903 business directory for Warsaw In that has Godman Ice Cream listed and J. V. Godman as manager as well as where its office was located

This is a telephone directory for Warsaw In from 1906 to 1918 and it has Godman Ice Cream company listed at 1906 but has no telephone listed after that. Looks like the company still ran for about 2 years after J. V Godman Passed away.
