I just picked up a nice ice blue aqua Great Radium Spring Water Co. Inc. Pittsfield, Mass.
In 1901, Fred M. Ostyee developed the property commercially as the site of the Great Radium Springs bottling plant. The company bottled and shipped flavored soft drinks throughout Berkshire County. Radium Springs, previously known as Pine Crest Spring, was discovered in 1870. About 5,000 to 6,000 gallons of water flowed every hour at a constant year-round temperature of 36 degrees. From 1914 to 1920, the Great Radium Springs Water Co. Inc., at 24 North Street, sold the water bottled on the farm property. The business closed in 1931.

Wonder how they came up with that name, surprised they stayed in business that long.

The member UnderMiner has recently found one of these. He says the name likely came from the growing popularity of the "health benefits" radium possessed, but there was likely no radium in the water.

Now you have to overlay the word Radium with green glow in the dark paint so it stands out when you turn off the lights. That's what I'm planning to do with mine.
