Green wide mouth barrel

I was some days out there doing bottle hunting. The far best find was this green baby.
I saw dispersers in similar shape or bottles with thin mouths but this one is something different.

The base is completely flat except the litgh circles.

It's applied tooled finish..

This close up shows imperfections

I think it contained pickled food.
Ideas, comments, any-all information is welcome.

Nice dig, Al! Great picture with all the dirt, too. I've seen those and like you, I figured they were some kind of pickle jar.

I suppose your one like mine hasn't anything embossed.

Looks somewhat similar to the French barrel mustards. There are several of these pictured online but none of them are embossed. They're almost certainly European.

Ahh maybe it explain the absence of marks like other french I know.

This is the smaller version of the bottle on the right. It is almost certainly a French pickle jar.
