Very funny, but it has gotta be fake or improperly translated. And everyone looks Asian, was it footage from the aftermath of the recent Tsunami in Japan or something? Doesn't make it much less funny though, haha.

Anyway, North Koreans aren't bad people. Probably no less misguided regarding the average American than the average American is misguided about the typical North Korean. We're all human beings at the core. American propaganda has been around forever and is extraordinarily sophisticated and pervasive; probably way more effective than whatever the N. Koreans churn out. To claim that NK is better than the USA at propaganda is mechanically, technologically, and socially ignorant to the damn core. Turn on the TV and watch any national news channel for 20 minutes, and unless the viewer has been brainwashed like many in the country they'll see it clear as day. Even public radio is full of BS, though it is my personal preference. The misinformation is absolutely disgusting. If one believes all the drivel spouted by the networks of their preference then they are worse than any North Korean drone; a poor soul who never had much of a choice to begin with. We actually have some semblance of constitutionally supported free choice here, so there is no justifiable excuse for perpetuating the idiocy fed to us by such sources. I've been guilty of it, and probably am now regarding this-or-that topic without my present awareness, which is part of the reason I feel so strongly about it. The poor salt-of-the-earth people trapped in NK have an excuse, but we don't. We have a capacity and the freedom to unearth the truth that the North Korean commoners probably can't even dream of, but would rather watch Football and porn instead.

Echoes my thoughts from 9/11 when people here were up in arms regarding the cheering masses they saw celebrating on tv in much of the Arab world. I explained to many of my friends that all these people are ever told is that America is bad and the cause of all the worlds problems, so of course the populace of those nations would be celebrating something horrific happening here if they were all under the impression we had it coming. So many people of the world have no idea of the freedoms we enjoy here, to them freedom is a few hours a week of government controlled tv and maybe some internet to go with their free bag of rice and the occasional cheap cut of meat.(For dramatic effect[])

Many people interpreted my explanation as me speaking badly about the USA and not shining light on the truth about how many parts of the world see us based on what they are told by their government, those people are mostly impossible to get thru to because of their own ignorance. I wish the freedoms we enjoy here and in many other countries around the world were enjoyed by all, but I doubt I'll see that in my lifetime.

Just checked and it's apparently a whole lot of both! Whole thing was done for the humor of it, but it got picked up by many purveyors of news as the real-deal.

To clarify, I am not judging anyone personally if they actually thought it was real; not your fault that purportedly reputable news agencies got the facts wrong, but it is extremely funny that now North Korea can laugh heartily at the stupidity and ignorance of the western world and how the supposedly reputable news services got something so simple so wrong. It does not make a good case for the "superiority" of capitalism and the western way of life. Makes my initial post much more awesome. Here we are with the sheeple of the "Free World" thinking North Koreans are dumb and ignorant when we are just as bad, if not so much worse because we actually have the freedoms to do the research and get the facts straight! []
