I found this bottle today at work, we were escavating a building foundation in Washington, D.C. This bottle seems to be pretty old, but I'm not sure. I posted it here because I don't think it would date back before 1900, but I could be wrong.

Any help in identifying this bottle would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

COULD YOU POST A PICTURE OF THE BOTTOM OF THIS BOTTLE? I BELIEVE IT COULD HAVE BEEN A SAUCE BOTTLE ? IN THIS FIRST PICTURE IT APPEARS TO BE AROUND 1890-1910.

It looks to be either medecine or oil bottle.
I've found these before with the original contents, black oily tar substance, and it had a rubber and brass stopper.
It may have been opium, which was common in the late 1800's.

Here is a photo of the bottom of the bottle. I haven't cleaned it yet-it's the same as when I found it. Thanks for your help.
