Hi - I'm new to the bottle collecting community and would appreciate anyone's help...
I've got a seltzer bottle that's etched in white block letters "Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Monroe, LA." The metal "spigot" is stamped: Coca Cola Bottling Co.
On the bottom of the bottle is the mark of what I was told was the Owen Illinois Glass Co. (an O with a diamond superimposed on top of it and an I in the middle). To the left of that mark is the number 2 (for the bottling plant which in this case is Fairmount, West Virginia?), to the right of the mark is the number 4 (Date of manufacture?, 1934), and 8 (don't know what this is).
I'm interested in any additional info and/or value anyone can provide as I can't seem to find this bottle online anywhere. Also, the spigot "spins" in place and i'd be curious to see if it could be removed without damaging the bottle to clean the residue from the inside....or should I even bother?
Thanks guys!
