Found in my attic, square bottle, maybe 4 inches tall, embossed "Elba" with.... Maybe a crown? Seam present on the sides, fades before the unevenly applied lip.Bottom has "12" with a diamond and maybe a mark from a suction machine? Bottle is uneven all over. Thanks for clicking and reading.

I've dug two of these in Galveston. Hope someone more knowledgeable can answer you.... I'm interested to know too.

Are yours as irregular as this one? I can't figure out how it was made. The seam means a mold but it's so oddly shaped so was the mold poorly made? Hoping for answers.

Some of that irregular shape can be from extreme heat or fire, many dumps got burned in the old days, I find many melted Bottles. LEON.

The diamond mark on the bottom indicates it was made by the Illinois Glass Company which means it dates from 1915-1929. In 1929 the company merged into the Owens-Illinois Glass Company and a circle was added on top of the diamond symbol which was the new logo until 1954.

I've seen a similar shape used for paint/art supply bottles, but haven't heard of the brand before. I agree that it's been melted in a fire, and that isn't an applied lip, it's a machine-made bottle which wouldn't originally have looked wonky at all. The suction mark on the bottom indicates that the seam would have gone to the top of the lip if it hadn't been melted smooth.

Yes, the crazing makes it look like it was heated. Maybe in a dump fire. It was machine-made by the looks of it.
