Found this bottle about 12 years ago fishing along the banks of the Cedar River in Waterloo, Iowa. Embossed with Waverly, Iowa I called the city and nobody there had any information. I have looked online and check the library. Still nothing. It stamp wbw, Waverly, Iowa. The glass has a green tint. And a heavy bottom any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I had my best guess, Wavery Bottling Works, hence the W.B.W. It would help a lot if we could get clear pictures of the whole bottle.

For future reference, towns and library's are not the ideal place to start, unless you know about the company in question already, and want to learn more.

If Waverly Ia. has a local historical society that would be a good place to contact for the possibility of finding out about your bottle or the business that used it. Libraries are a good place for research but you have to do it yourself as most librarians don't have time to look things up for people.

Library's are okay for major bottlers, but for something small, it's a long shot. I've tried libraries many times, no luck. The only thing I have found to work is dedicated internet searches, and knowledge of keywords.

Most library have a more complete collection of local history on all subject than you will ever find on the internet. Libraries were the place to do local research before the internet or computers ever existed. You are more apt to find information about small local businesses in the town they existed in. Not meaning any disrespect but that is the difference between our generations. You know more about technology than I do but I grew up doing research the old fashion way.

I actually don't know much about the internet either. Generations probably closer than you think.

It must be the libraries in my area then, because I have found them to be rather inadequate, or non helpful, in most of my cases.
