Home made cork retainers.

I had this idea to make some cork retainers. I also have porcelain stoppers i need to make the wire part. This the first two I made. Putnam cork retainer type. I think they are not bad. I need to work with a wire bender. I did these with a jig to mimic the top of a bottle and two pairs of needle nose pliers. What do you think? Wrong bottles for them I know.

That makes a big difference with those on there. They grab the eye and even people that are not into bottles will know they must be old. I wonder if I could use that same concept as a way to display them . Like if you put hooks all over the wall you could hang them independent without needing any shelves.

Most excellent Wayne, have a few porcelain tops was thinking it would be nice to have the wire. Another 4 yrs till I retire.

Different is good. I find my shelves look like a row of glass. When really each bottle has its own story. Just like books in a library.
