I explored the Buffalo Rochester and Pittsburgh railroad and the area around it and found this old foundation. I scratched around looking for a dump but to no avail. Any tips for hunting around old foundations?

it has a neat look to it , don't recall ever finding an intact stone fireplace still standing in the woods before

Yeah the Mason did a pretty good job there, or else the ground is level and well drained, without any frost heaving.
Believe it or not, the fireplace is usually the last thing standing after everything else rotted/rusted/burned away
