I found my first piece of a scripted straight sided coke two days ago. Lo and behold, it is a Houston straight side ! Looks to be a early machine made one. Very exciting to find one in my rural town.

I found my first piece of a scripted straight sided coke two days ago. Lo and behold, it is the extremely rare Houston straight side ! Looks to be a early machine made one. These are selling for approximately $500. Very exciting to find one in my rural town.

Cool bottle! Just to be clear, though, these are the most common (in my experience at least) of the Houston straight-sided Coke bottles and seem to run around $75. There are definitely some scarce to rare Houston SS cokes (including one with Houston misspelled and the legendary amber one). I have not seen any of this particular style that are machine-made...they all have tooled tops, I believe.
