I found this bottle at a flea market. It has an applied lip. It has an Iron Pntil. I have gleaned a little knowledge about John Howell but not Howell and smith. Am I right that this bottle is 1850s? Any body know about it? What is its age, contents, history, worth? Thanks for looking.

Nice find! I dug a hole in upstate NY full of these so I've always paid attention to them over the years. I have only seen 2 or 3 sell so I figure they are pretty rare.
They go for around 300$ I figure they were manufactured by the Glassworks in Lockport NY. The ones I found had applied hat tops like the Twitchell's from Philly but in cornflower blue.

Thank you for the info. I am always amazed how somebody in this forum has some idea of where to look for information.
