They are pretty scarce but I've seen a number of them over the years. I don't think they were actually "salesman's samples" but appear to be early generic hutch sodas that were actually used by some bottles who didn't want to pay for their own slugplate to be made.

I feel like any embossing wasnt the doorman hutch because it's still cost to emboss it... duh.. it would be blank .

Embossing wasn't all that complicated to do. Take for instance, the ever common Birmingham Bottling Company hutches. They're only worth about $25, even though they have tombstone slugs, and embossed eagle pictorials on them.
