I found this about a foot under ground in the hills by hursts castle.

It says 4oz on the top row. 1849 with an stamp in the middle of it. And U.S.A on the bottom row. I’d like to know if it’s really that old and possibly what it was used for and If it holds any value

most likely not that old, it's a screw top. Still cool, i like those old amber medicine bottles

Hi Travis, the 18 and the 49 are two separate manufacture's numbers and really not indicative of a bottle with a patent of 1849. It was most likely a pill container from the 70s.

It’s an Owens Illinois machine made bottle from the mid 1900s. And the number on the right usually corresponds to the year so most likely it was made in 1949.
